OMEN’S EQUALITY DAY 2019
CELEBRATING 99 YEARS OF WOMEN WINNING THE VOTE!!!
American Association of University Women (AAUW) Flagler will host a celebration of the 99th Anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, forever enshrining the right to vote for women. Join us on Monday, August 26, 2019, at the Flagler County Public Library, 2500 Palm Coast Parkway, NW., Palm Coast, FL. This free event, begins at 1:00 pm, is open to the public, and will feature members of AAUW Flagler participating in a member-authored skit, “Women Won the Vote: How Did THAT Happen”.

As AAUW members give voice to incredible warriors of Women’s Suffrage, hear of their struggles and victories as they waged a 72-year-long-battle to secure the right to be heard at the ballot box. The skit’s narrator will surprise many in Flagler County as she is a local suffragette who never realized the chance to vote. Immediately following the skit, join AAUW Flagler and the Flagler County Public Library as a display, featuring women’s suffrage books, will be presented. The display will be available for one month in hopes of encouraging readers to learn more of #HERStory.
